Prescription Assistance
- RemediChain – Our sister company, RemediChain, has a mission to solve the financial and environmental problems of prescription waste by legally collecting unused, good condition prescription medication to share with patients who could not otherwise afford it. By treating extra medication as a resource and through partnerships with lawmakers, providers, advocates, pharmacists, nonprofits and patients, RemediChain strives to ensure no patient in need goes without.
- NeedyMeds – This nonprofit organization focuses on making health care more accessible to patients. Visit their website to search specific medications, get help with prescription assistance program applications, find low-cost generic prescriptions and more.
- NOVAScriptsCentral – This pharmacy provides services and medications to low-income patients in Northern Virginia. Their programs include diabetes education, immunization clinics, addiction treatment, $5 medications and more.
- Medicare Part D Extra Help – This program provides additional prescription assistance for Medicare beneficiaries with limited incomes and assets. Learn more or start your application here.

- SafeNetRx – Established in 2001, SafeNetRx was created as an Iowa-based non-profit to provide affordable medicines to patients in need. In 2007, they pioneered the Drug Donation Repository model to collect, inspect and distribute unused medicines. The organization is now building a national drug donation system where unused medicines can be redirected to clinics and pharmacies caring for patients in need.
Pharmacy Advocacy Groups
- National Community Pharmacy Association – This professional association calls itself “the voice of community pharmacists.” It represents nearly 20,000 independent pharmacies across the United States and advocates for them and for the countless patients they serve.
- American Pharmacists Association – APhA is dedicated to advancing the pharmacy profession as a whole. It supports the profession through tools like its educational journals, legislative advocacy, and resources for students, pharmacists and pharmacy techs, among others.
- Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy – AMCP works to empower its members to serve society by providing opportunities for continued professional growth and advancing individual and collective knowledge.
- American College of Clinical Pharmacy – ACCP exists to advance human health and quality of life by helping pharmacists expand the frontiers of their practice and research.
- American Society of Consultant Pharmacists – ASCP is the international professional association that provides leadership, education, advocacy and resources to advance the practice of consultant and senior care pharmacy.
- American Society of Health System Pharmacists – ASHP represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care and other components of health care systems.
- College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists – CPNP strives to promote excellence in pharmacy practice, education, and research to optimize the treatment outcomes of individuals affected by psychiatric and neurologic disorders.
- Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association – HOPA is a professional organization dedicated to supporting hematology/oncology pharmacy practitioners in optimizing the care of patients with cancer. They hope to reduce the burden of cancer on society and promote optimal, cost-effective care for people affected by cancer.
- Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists – SIDP is dedicated to promoting the appropriate use of antimicrobials. SIDP provides education, advocacy, and leadership in all aspects of the treatment of infectious diseases.
Pediatric Pharmacy Association – The mission of the Pediatric Pharmacy Association is to advance pediatric pharmacy practice, support the health and wellbeing of children, and promote safe and effective medication use in children through Collaboration, Advocacy, Research, and Education.
Medication Reclamation, Disposal & Secure Disposal

- DEA National Take Back Day – Twice each year, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency hosts Take Back Day, which allows anyone to anonymously and safely turn in any unused prescription drugs for secure disposal, including controlled substances, expired prescriptions and more. - Please don’t dispose of prescriptions that could be donated! Our sister company, RemediChain, can legally accept certain types of unused, unexpired, good condition medication from anywhere in the United States. Click here to let us know what you have. If we can legally accept it, we’ll send you a shipping label. Your donation could be literally lifesaving for a patient in need.
- DEA/DOJ Permanent Collection Sites – If you missed a take-back event, the DEA does have permanent collection sites at registered facilities across the U.S. Click here to search for one near you. This is a great option for expired medications, controlled substances or other leftover medication that cannot be donated.
